People buy a treadmill for an only reason… lose weight. This is the main reason people go and buy one. Then, after getting the treadmill, we wonder what to do with it, and suddenly you don`t know what to do. Here are some steps to follow in order to learn how to lose weight with your treadmill.

Step 1: Treadmills have a console where you can set your gender, weight, age and height. This will be your profile, and the console can estimate how much you need to workout in order to lose weight based on a formula. You need to know what is your fat burning zone. With all this information, the machine is also able to calculi how many calories you burn during a workout.

Step 2: Keep your chest strap attach to your chest all the time. This is an important step to make before start using the treadmill. It will provide information about your heart rate during the workout, and you will be able to know if you truly are on your fat burning zone.

Step 3: Warm-Up all the time… I mean always! No matter what type of treadmill workout you will make you need to warm up. This is the best way to prevent possible injuries. Treadmills have a set up for warm ups that usually take 4 minutes of your time just to make your muscles warm up.

Step 4: Don’t forget to monitor your heart rate during exercise. If you are feeling sick or uncomfortable or If you see the alarm ringing because your heart rate is too high, you need to stop working out. Once you are stable, you will need to figure it out about the speed you were running.

Step 5: If you are a beginner, your workout must last at least 20 minutes and no much more than that. Once you get used to workout on the treadmill, you can increase the time to 30 and so on. With 30 minutes of workout, your fat burning zone will be activated and your fat burning process will start.

Step 6: Cool Down….Just like you did your warm up, you need to cool down. No matter how long your treadmill workout was or how intense it was, you will always need to slow your speed until your heart rate is normal and decreases again.
